Welcome to the Polymers Specialised Group (GEP) of the RSEQ and RSEF meeting.
Welcome to XV edition of the Polymers Specialised Group (GEP) of the RSEQ and RSEF meeting, which is going to take place on September 24th to 27th 2018 in Punta Umbría, Huelva.
After Burgos, where XIV edition took place, Huelva has a main objective to promote and to divulge the latest researches related to polymers science and technology put out by the investigations groups both national and international participants in this event. In this sense, we pretend to strengthen links, experience exchange and academic-scientific knowledge between researchers, professors, students and professionals.
Scientific program includes oral communications and poster sessions in which the most recent novelties inside the field of polymers science and technology are going to be exposed, moreover conferences by prestigious researchers.
Meeting organization welcomes you to Huelva. A place still to be discovered with a third of its territory declared as a protected natural space. The confluence of the Atlantic Ocean and the Guadalquivir and Guadiana rivers create a unique environment, where never-ending beaches of golden dunes are mixed with curly river courses crossing the big green plain of the marsh. With a mountain chain that offers an abrupt scenery filled with trees, footpaths and forests that grow to the lullaby of creeks and springs, hearth of the best Iberian pig. The soft undulations of the central pasture of the province have allowed to the man to establish its extensive kingdom of fields of farming and enter the same entrails of the ground stone and fire, a mining tradition of generations that has marked the local physiognomy, making it almost unreal.
The rich history of this province, of unequivocal seaworthy vocation, goes back to the first millenium previous to our age. Tartessos and Phoenicians exploit the mines of the interior, turn the villages of the coast into prosperous mercantile enclaves and create a marine route, to transport the minerals of Tharsis and Riotinto to the cities of the oriental Mediterranean. From the wharf of Palos de la Frontera, in 1492, the first expedition of Columbus departs towards the New World. The Columbus achievement marked a turning point in the history of our province. More recently, the English presence, which they came coveting the ancient mining treasures of our ancestors, has marked our province and our capital city, turning in return into cradle of the club dean of the Spanish football.
